Normal route
From Hospital de Benasque via the Portillón de Benasque pass.
History
The Portillón de Benasque was for centuries a historic trade and smuggling route between Benasque and Luchon.
Geology
Landscape
High granite mountains with glacial cirques, hanging mountain lakes, permanent snowfields and sharp ridges above the Ésera valley.

Afternoon storms are common from June to September and conditions can change within hours.
